Soprano Cassandra Norville was last seen with ROC in 2005 as Mimí in Puccini’s LA BOHÈME, as Pamina in DIE ZAUBERFLÖTE (2003) and as a featured soloist in all of the past “Opera Stars” concerts.

A Billings native, Cassandra received a Bachelor of Music Degree from the University of Montana where she studied with Esther England, followed by a Master of Music Degree from the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston where she studied with John Moriarty of Central City Opera and James De Blasis of Cincinnati Opera, along with Warren Jones, Martin Isepp, and Patricia Craig of the Metropolitan Opera. As an active member of the New England musical community, Ms. Norville was featured in many concerts throughout the region as well as on the opera stage where she performed The Queen of the Night, Belinda in DIDO AND AENEAS, Suor Genovieffa in SUOR ANGELICA, Elena in Nino Rota’s IL CAPPELLO DI PAGLIA DI FIRENZE, and the title role in Handel’s RODELINDA for which The Boston Globe heralded her as having  “…strutted considerable coloratura stuff in Rodelinda’s showoff arias, retaining a silvery gleam even when singing so high that the staff receded to a small speck in the distance”

Captivating audiences worldwide, Ms. Norville has appeared as Lucia, Micaëla, Nedda, Violetta, Manon, Rosalinde, Sophie, Juliette, Musetta, Susanna, and Lauretta. She has performed with Opera Idaho, Sun Valley Opera, Rimrock Opera Company, Opera Colorado, Central City Opera, Prism Opera, Cambridge Lieder and Opera Society, Ohio Light Opera, and Intermountain Opera. Internationally, she has been seen and heard in Austria, Ireland, Scotland, Poland, and Hungary. Concert highlights include the World Premiere of John Sarkissian’s song cycle THE BIRDS in Boston’s celebrated Jordan Hall, Liszt’s VIA CRUCIS with New York City’s Riverside Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as the annual Holiday Gala Konzert for the American Consulate in Hamburg, Germany.

A versatile and dynamic performer, Cassandra performed several operetta roles for Ohio Light Opera including Adele in DIE FLEDERMAUS, Juliette in Lehar’s THE COUNT OF LUXEMBOURG, and Rosie Flynn in Herbert’s EILEEN, which was recorded and released in 1998 on the Newport Classics label.

More recently, Ms. Norville expanded her repertoire to include musical theatre. This past Spring she inspired Phoenix audiences for eight weeks with her powerful rendition of the mega-hit song “Memory” as Grizabella in Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical phenomenon CATS. Other important musical credits include Sally Bowles in CABARET, Lucy Harris in Frank Wildhorn’s gothic musical thriller JEKYLL & HYDE, and Lilli Vanessi in KISS ME KATE for which she received an Arizoni Theatre Award of Excellence nomination.

Cassandra currently resides in Phoenix, Arizona with her family. A busy mother of two brilliant and creative young boys, she also performs daily as Co-Founder and Artistic Producer of Arizona Broadway Theatre, a professional non-profit dinner theatre offering full-scale “broadway” musical productions year round in Phoenix’s Northwest Valley.
