baritone. The breadth and depth of Mr. Andrade’s voice and range has often been
compared to that of George London’s. Reviewers have described Mr. Andrade as “a
great singer” who “acts and sings beautifully.” While making his mark in the
German roles of Wotan, Amfortas, Gunther, Donner, Wolfram, Friedrich, and
Kurwenal, he has also performed extensively the Italian roles of Nabucco,
Falstaff, Enrico, Tonio, Amonasro, and Scarpia. His wide repertoire embraces the
comic, as in Leporello, Don Alfonso and Norton The Marriage Contract,
along with the serious, in such roles as Germont and Scarpia. Mr. Andrade has
also appeared in the United States and abroad in concert and oratorio venues,
performing German Lieder and Bach Cantatas.
