Jay Gardner

Jay Gardner is a versatile singer and actor who is equally at home in opera,
musical theater and cabaret. Favorite roles include Judge Danforth in The
Crucible
, the Beadle Bamford in Sweeney Todd, Sam Polk in Susannah and the voice of Audrey II in Little Shop of Horrors.

Other performances include the
regional premier of Alan Menken and Tim Rice's King David, Herr Schultz in
Cabaret and Reuben in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Jay
appears frequently with The Dallas Opera playing the Second Jew In Salome, Parpignol in La Boheme and The Prince of Persia in Turandot.

On the concert stage Jay was a soloist in the Carnegie Hall premier of Sing For The Cure in conjunction with the Turtle Creek Chorale and the Susan G.Komen Foundation.

Jay has also appeared as a soloist with the Schola Cantorum of Texas and the University of North Texas Chamber Orchestra. Jay has also directed for OhLook Performing Arts Center and the revues The Golden Age of Broadway and Bernstein on Broadway for the Crested Butte Music Festival.

Most recently, Jay presented his cabaret Too Marvelous for Words: The Great American Songbook as part of Summerfest at The NOVA Center for the Performing Arts in Billings, Montana. In the Summer of 2014 Jay had the honor of being a Cabaret Fellow at the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center Cabaret and Performance Conference in New London, Connecticut where he studied with Barb Jungr and John McDaniel. In the summer of 2015 he will attending the St. Louis Cabaret Convention where he will study with Marilyn Maye, Jason Robert Brown and Alex Rybeck. Jay is the Co-Founder and Co-Artistic Director of Front Line Productions which strives to bring the intimate art of cabaret to the Dallas/ Ft. Worth area. www.frontlineproductions.org
