Aaron Walker is thrilled to be making his NOVA Center - Rimrock Opera debut
covering Hywel Ddu while singing the roles of Negesydd (Messenger), Mynach
(Monk), and Blaenwr (Leader). Aaron's talent as a performer has been
recognized on a national and international level. In 2017, Aaron excelled as
an international finalist and 3rd Prize winner in the Great Composers
Competition Series: Handel. Aaron was also among 24 semifinalists selected
out of nearly 200 applicants to advance in the 2017 and 2018 James Toland
Vocal Arts Competitions. And later in 2018, Aaron was among just 12 singers
selected for the highly competitive Arizona Opera & Arizona State University
Winter Vocal Academy.
Aaron Walker is an active vocal performer who
enjoys a wide array of settings including opera, musical theater, recital,
and concert repertoire. Among his favorite roles are Monostatos (Magic
Flute), Saint Brioche (The Merry Widow), Pish Tush (Mikado), and Harry the
Horse (Guys and Dolls). Aaron's love for performance also expands into
choral music; he was honored to perform as a soloist in the 2016 Utah ACDA
Combined Choirs concert. He also performed as a tenor soloist with the 2017
Utah Valley University Chamber Choir’s performance of Bach’s Saint John
Passion.
Having served a two-year religious service mission in Kiev,
Ukraine, Aaron is fluent in the Russian language. He holds a Bachelor’s
degree in Voice Performance from Utah Valley University, where he was he was
the recipient of competitive voice scholarships and a student of baritone
